To Begin with I really like the effect of the 'ticking' noise which links with the editing of each changing slide, as well as the effect of it sliding down from the top then leaving going down. I think this whole idea adds tension and is making the audience on edge from he very start with the effective quotes such as ' Most people choose a home, for the neighborhood, or the schools, or the size, but some people, choose a house, for a completely, different, reason.' This is like a story being told which makes the audience guess what is going to happen next, but most of all within this section of the teaser the music in the background sets the scene and the sound effects create the atmosphere. It begins with the establishing shot something I think is effective as then the audience now know that the house they are in, is by itself in the forest. The way in which it then goes silent to the loud banging at the door would make the audience jump back, this is where the sound effect of the wind comes in creating an edge to the trailer, but focusing on the innocent couple throughout most of the trailer questions who is it that is actually tormenting with them?. From here this is where the teaser trailer uses jump cuts and effects showing parts of the film which would grab the attention of audience even more, I really like how its gone back to the same effect as what it began with, the 'clip' effect ending on tense note. From these two teaser trailer I have learnt a lot from what areas to include and how to present my own teaser trailer.
This is the teaser poster for The Strangers, previously I have researched into the official poster for the film, here you can see the differences, like a different image and how involves one victim and the one that is tormenting the Innocent couple. The effects of the teaser poster leaves the on looker feeling on edge questioning themselves to who that is in the back right hand corner, emerging from the darkness. Over all I like how the poster is set on location of the film and how it shows the victim, which is what I have successfully done in my own poster.
